Choice of manufacturers
We offer Tockay (manufactured by Kreidezeit) and Auro, two German companies. All these products are based on old recipes that have been updated to suit both traditional and more m modern surfaces such as gypsum. The products we offer enable the creation of the simplest finishes to the most sophisticated decorative effects such as tadelakt. Our products are natural, healty, hypo-allergenic and environmentally friendly.

Health and the environment
Our products contain no synthetic or petrochemical ingredients, as attested by the full list of ingredients available for each of our products. All lists are available on our website. For further information, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Whether lime- or clay-based, our products are healthy and recommended for anyone concerned about their health. They are recommended for people suffering from allergies or multiple hypersensitivities.

Many of their ingredients have long been known for their natural disinfectant and antifugal properties. They reduce the proliferation of bacteria and mold. All our finishes are antistatic, eliminating electrostatic charges and the attraction of dust and, consequently, the development of dust mites. It should be noted, however, that some people may be allergic to natural products.

While these products remain healthy for humans, their life cycle is also designed to minimize their impact on the environment. Because of the nature of their ingredients and the low level of processing involved, they are manufactured in an environmentally-friendly way. They are also manufactured under conditions that are socially respectful of their workers. Kreidezeit and Auro are located in northern Germany, near the port of Hamburg, and the products are transported by boat, which significantly reduces the carbon footprint. Finally, most of the residues from our products are compostable, and in all cases suitable for household waste, unlike residues from synthetic products, which remain hazardous products.

Full declaration of ingredients
We opt for transparency and disclosure of all the ingredients used in the manufacture of the products we offer you. The guarantee of full labelling allows you to make a critical assessment of both health and the environment.

Both Kreidezeit and Auro have chosen to fully disclose the ingredients contained in each of their products and are signatories to the Code of Conduct of the International Association of Natural Building Materials (In.Ve.Na.). Each product is tested to European standards (more stringent than in North America) and is awarded and EU VOC Value Certificate in accordance with 2004/42/EC.

Transport and CO2
Kreidezeit and Auro products are manufactured in northern Germany, close to the port of Hamburg. As a result, our products are transported by ship in large containers. Sea freight is the most fuel-efficient means of transportation. The carbon footprint of transporting a pallet of our products by ship is roughly equivalent to 40 km by truck.

AWARD-WINNING PRODUCTS, ATTESTATIONS AND LEED® CERTIFICATION
Kreidezeit products distributed by Tockay have been the subject of an Ecohabitation report on their LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) positioning. It concludes that these products contain no VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds) and comply with the requirements of Table 25, enabling users to earn the maximum number of pints in their category — consult the LEED Positioning Report (in French only).

LEED® Canada for Homes is a green certification for homes launched in the United States by the US Green Building Council®, a non-governmental organization. Ökotest Magazine – the German environmental equivalent of Protégez-Vous magazine — has awarded prizes to several Kreidezeit and Auro products. With a circulation of 125 000, this independent magazine is recognized as Germany’s leading environmental consumer magazine. It is particularly renowned for its toxicology tests, environmental impact analyses and product quality/price ratios. Ökotest systematically indicates its test protocol and selected criteria. Tests are carried out by a independent laboratory.
